LAKE TEKAPO MOTELS & HOLIDAY PARK:
This is our lovely apartment... nosotros would convey preferred to live on at the Cook's village. This was an hour's sweat but of course of study a real scenic drive!
The storey was on the shores of the beautiful lake Tekapo
HOOKER VALLEY HIKE:
We reached the trailhead at Whitehorse camping ground Earth as well as started the Hooker valley hike.
We reached the halt signal after ii hours... lovely hooker glacier as well as lake...
Everyone was having their lunch, nosotros had the chocolates nosotros had carried.
We thence clambered downward to the lake side... to encounter the floating glacier pieces upward close...
We thence retraced our agency back... the winding path seen here... took much less than the ii hours...
We drove to the visitor center,.. splendid views of Aoraki fifty-fifty from there...for those who can't hike!
We had our nutrient as well as thence drove dorsum to the campground for our adjacent hike
KEA POINT HIKE:
Again this is also some other glorious hike amongst views of the snowfall covered Aoraki merely inwards forepart of us all the fourth dimension equally nosotros hike...
The greyness debris is the remnant of melted/retreated glacier... sad! To the left of moving-picture demo is Mt Sefton, 3151m high, merely 7km due south of Aoraki.

CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD:
For sunset nosotros drove to the nearby historic church building at the urban centre center... v minutes from our apt.
That was the halt of a real beautiful day. We were thence real thankful for the AWESOME conditions which had made our long hikes thence worthwhile!!
DAY 16, March 5, 2017, Sunday:
We checked out, took some pics of the cook clean apt equally nosotros e'er produce when nosotros leave...
This is the lake persuasion from the forepart of our apt...
We did a curt halt at Lake Tekapo
as well as thence were on our agency to Christchurch some x inwards the morning.
Arrived at Christchurch, checked inwards to our room at YHA again,,, nosotros had spent a nighttime when nosotros landed inwards South Island earlier starting our loop drive. Here nosotros were later on a glorious trip ,,, for ii nights at CC earlier our flying dorsum to North Island as well as onward home.
Had nutrient as well as drove to the lovely Willowbank Reserve
Willowbank Reserve:
At $35 entry it's a fleck on the higher side, but the animals as well as costless flying exotic birds out at that spot were AWESOME!
This Mother Hen was thence aggressive... she followed us some amongst her brood for some food...
Keas busy feeding ... opening this is slow peasy for them, other birds can't larn to this stash...
